Event Description:
A startup-based event filled with enthusiasm to come up with ideas and stimulate the innovator inside us. The event consists of 2 rounds and revolves around brainstorming entrepreneurial ideas to tackle problems faced in the construction and other civil-related sectors.
Round 1
Innovative ideas are to be articulated in the form of a report (following the template given by us). The report is supposed to answer the following questions in addition to a brief point of view of the participants:
1. What is the idea about?
2. How can it be helpful in this current scenario?
3. How can it be implemented?
Judging criteria
- How best the report addresses the problems in the construction/civil-related industry during the time of the pandemic.
- Uniqueness in the described idea/solution.
- Check for Plagiarism.
Bonus points will be allotted to the teams whose entrepreneurial ideas will address challenges
brought about by the COVID19 pandemic globally.
Evaluation rubrics - 1
Round 2
The idea has to be presented in the form of a PowerPoint presentation before the judges virtually. The time allotted will be 7 minutes per team. The presentation must include all aspects of the idea.
Judging criteria
- How the solution described will bring change in the existing conventional practices of construction.
- Feasibility study(brief) of the mentioned solution.
- How well are the chosen/included technological methodologies are described in the solution.
Evaluation rubrics - 2
Rules and Regulations:
1. A team can consist of a maximum of 4 members who are to be from the same college. Participating teams can come from different disciplines and not necessarily Civil engineering.
2. All teams would be asked to make a report and a presentation on their idea/solutions.
3. The report should be mailed to us no later than 6pm, 14th October. Assessing the ideas through the reports, few teams would be selected (the number depending on the number of participating teams) to partake in round 2.
4. The results of Round 1 shall be announced round by 9 am on the day of the event.
5. For round 2, the qualified teams will have to present their ideas in the form of PowerPoint presentations before the judges virtually. Each team will be given a length of 7mins.
6. The final scores will be evaluated taking into account the judges’ scores and comments/feedbacks.
7. The results will be announced by the evening of 16th of October.
